Sicily hosts major cultural and agricultural autumn events
Sicily is hosting several cultural and agricultural events this autumn. In Zafferana Etnea, the 46th edition of Ottobrata Zafferanese is being prepared, featuring 240 stands showcasing Etna's craftsmanship, gastronomy, and culture. The event coincides with the 200th anniversary of the town's administrative autonomy.
In San Cono, the 40th Sagra del Ficodindia DOP is approaching, aiming to position the area as a global hub for prickly pear production. The industry manages approximately 200,000 quintals annually across 2,000 hectares, contributing 70% of local agricultural income.
In Syracuse, the Order of Physicians celebrated the 10th anniversary of ‘L’Ordine incontra la città’, an event bridging medicine and literature. The ceremony included awards for medical research and a literary competition where student Jacopo Barrera won for his story regarding the ethics of care.
Additionally, Catania will host the fourth edition of Vulcanica, a contemporary festival focused on the ‘right to inhabit’ and urban community life, featuring debates and photography exhibitions.
