FGR denies investigating Andy López Beltrán for fuel smuggling

The Mexican Attorney General's Office (FGR) has officially denied having sufficient legal evidence or protected witnesses to launch an investigation into Andy López Beltrán, son of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, regarding alleged involvement in 'huachicol fiscal' (fuel smuggling). The FGR characterized reports claiming the existence of such witnesses as false.

This denial follows political accusations from the PAN party, which claims that testimonies in criminal files link López Beltrán to fuel smuggling operations. Additionally, leaked audio recordings reported by Latinus suggest that associates of López Beltrán have connections to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in Veracruz.

President Claudia Sheinbaum defended the government's position, stating that the recent revocation of López Beltrán's U.S. visa does not constitute proof of criminal activity and that any investigation must be based on concrete evidence.
