San Fernando, Mexico installs high‑capacity transformer to end recurring outages

A new high‑capacity transformer was installed at the CFE substation in San Fernando, Tamaulipas, ending frequent power interruptions that had affected thousands of households and businesses.

The installation was carried out early on Sunday with a scheduled power shutdown to allow technical crews to complete the maneuver safely. Municipal president Verónica Aguirre, the state’s Energy Secretary Walter Ángel Julián Jiménez and CFE officials coordinated the project, which expands the substation’s capacity, stabilises voltage and supports water‑pumping systems.

Authorities say the upgrade will provide a more reliable electricity supply for residents, commercial users and local industry, reducing the outages that previously disrupted daily life.
