San Francesco commemorations held in Carmiano and Pesaro, Italy

On 17 June 2026, the town of Carmiano hosted a dialogue evening at the Giardini dell’Immacolata featuring Don Cosimo Schena, a priest, psychologist and author. The event, promoted by the local Arciconfraternita and the municipality, presented Schena’s books *L’eresia di Francesco* and *Dio è il mio Coach*, exploring Saint Francis’s radical commitment to the Gospel and themes of identity, freedom and personal growth.

Three days later, on 20 June 2026, the Church of San Giovanni in Pesaro staged an ecumenical concert‑theatre titled “La forza del dialogo: Francesco d’Assisi e i Testimoni del Vangelo”. Part of the 800th‑anniversary celebrations of Saint Francis’s death, the program featured the inter‑denominational group DIVIVALUCE performing original music and reciting texts from Franciscan and broader Christian witnesses, emphasizing peace, solidarity and environmental stewardship.
