San Francisco de Asís community celebrates patron saint festivities

The community of San Francisco de Asís recently concluded its patron saint festivities through a series of religious and social events. The celebrations included a solemn Eucharist presided over by Bishop Emeritus Monsignor Luis A. Collazuol, alongside priests Pablo Méndez and Marcelo Charles Mengeón. The religious program featured second communions, baptisms, and a traditional blessing of pets.

Social activities included a communal lunch to strengthen community ties and a large 'callejoneada' organized by the Bravo Street committee. This parade, accompanied by live music and a 'tamborazo' band, wound through several local streets, including Libertad, Terán, and Ocampo, before returning to Bravo Street where an image of San Francisco de Asís was displayed.

The festivities also included a procession from the San Francisco Private School No. 69 to the parish temple. The event concluded with a special mass led by Father Pablo Méndez and Father Fabricio Ponce, which focused on providing blessings to the sick and elderly members of the community.
