San Francisco firefighters launch grain donation campaign for rural fire equipment
The San Francisco Volunteer Firefighters have launched a new edition of the ‘Grassland and Stubble Fire Fighting Program’ to strengthen their equipment for rural fires. The initiative seeks to secure support from the agricultural sector through donations of grains such as wheat, soy, or corn.
Several companies, including Cargill, AGD, Agroideas, and others, will act as intermediaries, receiving grain contributions from producers and coordinating with the fire department. This is the second time the program has been implemented; a previous campaign in 2021 successfully funded equipment currently used by personnel for forest and rural fire combat.
