Dominican Republic shootings leave one dead in Santiago and two in San Isidro
Two separate violent incidents in the Dominican Republic have resulted in multiple casualties.
In San Isidro, Santo Domingo Este, a shooting on Juan Sánchez Ramírez street in the El Bonito sector left 19-year-old Jeury Mauricio Cruz dead and two others, Ángel Ramón Solano Gutiérrez and Gregorio Martínez Castillo, wounded. Authorities believe the attack, which involved 12 shell casings of various calibers, was directed at a man known as “Maikel El Malo” due to personal grievances. Police are searching for the primary suspect, Sebastián Reyes Herrera, also known as “Sebastián Glock.”
In Santiago, a 16-year-old teenager, Deny Núñez Taveras, died at the Arturo Grullón pediatric hospital after being shot in the head. The incident occurred in the New York Chiquito sector of Nibaje when unidentified individuals on a motorcycle opened fire on a residence. The gunfire was reportedly aimed at a man known as “Dani,” who managed to escape the scene, while the teenager was caught in the crossfire.
