San José de Ocoa hosts 5th photography contest on biodiversity

The 5th Ocoa Photography Contest has announced that the awards ceremony for its latest edition will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026. This specific edition is dedicated to the “Biodiversity of San José de Ocoa,” aiming to promote the natural and landscape wealth of the province.

The competition encourages participants to capture the region's diverse species and ecosystems, including birds, insects, mammals, reptiles, native flora, forests, rivers, and mountains. The initiative is driven by digital platforms Ocoa Informativa, Ocoa En Red, and Perfil de Ocoa, which focus on promoting culture, tourism, and environmental conservation.

Organizers are seeking support from companies and institutions to strengthen the initiative, viewing photography as a tool for environmental education and the protection of natural resources. The contest seeks to project San José de Ocoa as a destination of significant ecological and landscape richness.
