Severe weather triggers emergency alerts across Argentina and Mexico

Multiple regions in Argentina are facing severe weather conditions. In Chaco, the Provincial Emergency Committee has declared an orange alert, prompting Governor Leandro Zdero to coordinate preventive actions to monitor river levels and meteorological forecasts.

Mendoza has reported 85 incidents following intense storms, including flooded homes, fallen trees, and power outages. Minister Natalio Mema noted that current infrastructure is not fully prepared for such rapid, heavy rainfall, particularly in areas like Guaymallén and the piedmont.

In San Juan, a yellow alert is in effect due to the threat of heavy rain, hail, and wind gusts exceeding 60 km/h. Meanwhile, in San Juan del Río, Mexico, consistent daily rainfall has caused a 40% increase in weeding and a 50% increase in pruning requirements for municipal services.
