San Juan authorities investigate deaths of couple in Chimbas
Authorities in San Juan, Argentina, are investigating the deaths of a couple, Fanny Figueroa and Daniel Maldonado, who were found dead in their home in Chimbas. The investigation is currently exploring the hypothesis of a femicide followed by suicide.
According to prosecutor Iván Grassi, there were no signs of forced entry into the residence, and no valuables were reported missing. Preliminary findings indicate that Maldonado may have attempted suicide on multiple occasions. However, investigators noted that Figueroa’s body showed signs of injuries, suggesting she may have been attacked before the deaths occurred.
Forensic autopsies are pending to confirm the exact cause of death, the timing of the events, and the circumstances surrounding the death of the couple's pet, which was also found dead at the scene.
