San Juan del Río allocates 190 million pesos to infrastructure upgrades

The municipal government of San Juan del Río announced a plan to spend nearly 190 million pesos in the second half of 2026 on public works and hydraulic infrastructure. Projects include new school facilities, road paving, an 23 million‑peso water storage tank, a well near the exhibition center, a treatment plant, and the regularisation of 800 property titles. The Secretariat of Public Services also earmarked up to 10 million pesos for road rehabilitation, street lighting and drainage improvements, such as reopening access to the Solares Banthí and Las Esmeraldas neighborhoods and upgrading the Jardín de la Familia lighting. At the state level, more than 100 streets were modernised, with a notable 5.6 million‑peso upgrade of Emiliano Zapata street in the Guadalupe de Las Peñas colonia, bringing the total to 194 works and 1.5 billion pesos invested during the current administration. The municipal water utility, JAPAM, delivered 22 new vehicles to staff and announced a 90 million‑peso investment for the remainder of 2026, funding new water tanks, wells, reforestation and low‑cost water delivery to underserved areas.
