San Luis Potosí begins construction on Jacobo Payán overpass

Construction has begun on the Jacobo Payán Latuff Avenue vehicular overpass in San Luis Potosí. The 500-meter project aims to connect the avenue with the northern lateral of Salvador Nava Martínez Boulevard, significantly reducing travel times from 25 minutes to approximately two minutes for commuters.

The infrastructure will feature two ramps to facilitate direct movement and resolve a major traffic bottleneck between the eastern part of the capital and the industrial zone. The project spans the neighborhoods of Españita, Esmeralda, and San Luis Rey, extending from Malaquita Street to the Salvador Nava lateral.

While the official contractual period for the works is eight months, the construction company involved has stated they aim to complete the project in roughly half that time. Mayor Enrique Galindo Ceballos noted that the start of the project had been delayed by administrative issues that were resolved in mid-August.
