San Luis Potosí expands Xantolo cultural celebrations to the Altiplano

The sixth edition of the ‘Xantolo se Vive en tu Ciudad’ celebration will expand its reach across San Luis Potosí, bringing the Huasteca region's ancestral traditions to the Altiplano for the first time. Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona announced that the festivities will include ‘Xantolo se Vive en el Altiplano’ in Matehuala on October 16 and 17.

The program will continue from October 23 to 25 in San Luis Potosí, Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, and Villa de Pozos, before returning to the Huasteca region from October 30 to November 2. The event aims to preserve and promote local identity through music, dance, gastronomy, and traditional altars associated with All Saints' Day and Day of the Dead.

Secretary of Culture Juan Carlos Torres Cedillo noted that the celebration has become a significant draw for both national and international tourists. Additionally, an invitation has been received from the Mexican Embassy in Brazil to present a portion of the Potosino spectacle during a tenth-anniversary celebration there.
