San Luis Potosí Governor opposes legislative presence in security meetings

San Luis Potosí Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona has expressed reservations regarding a proposal to include representatives from the State Congress in security meetings. The proposal, introduced by Deputy Cuauhtli Fernando Badillo Moreno, suggests allowing legislators to attend as guests or observers to gain firsthand knowledge of security issues.

Gallardo Cardona argued that these meetings involve sensitive, operational matters that should remain separate from legislative duties. He noted that the participation of external parties would require approval from federal institutions, such as the Secretariat of National Defense, the National Guard, and the Attorney General's Office. The Governor maintained that the primary responsibility of the legislature is to create and modify laws rather than engaging in operational security strategies.
