San Luis Potosí Governor Ricardo Gallardo Pushes Ahead with State Works

Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona of San Luis Potosí has been ranked fifth nationally in approval, with a 57.7% rating according to Polls.mx, reinforced by Mitofsky surveys that consistently place him among the top state executives.

Gallardo announced that the state will continue its planned infrastructure projects in the capital city without coordination with the municipal administration led by Mayor Enrique Galindo Ceballos. He cited political calculations ahead of the 2027 elections, stating that works such as the “Glorieta de la Familia” will proceed solely under state direction.

The governor framed the lack of municipal cooperation as part of a broader political dynamic, describing it as normal “campaign‑time posturing” by local officials seeking opposition status.
