Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona’s administration in the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí is coordinating a broad public‑security effort across all 59 municipalities. Municipal security councils have convened in locations such as Armadillo de los Infante, Villa de Ramos, Cerritos and Lagunillas to plan joint actions on crime prevention, surveillance, social proximity and operational coordination among the State Civil Guard, municipal police, the National Defense Secretariat and the National Guard.

Following these meetings, the state rolled out the “Operativo Verano Seguro 2026” with more than 1,500 personnel from the State Civil Guard and other governmental bodies. The operation, running through 31 August, focuses on securing highways, tourist sites and recreation centers, using ground and aerial patrols, video‑surveillance systems supplied by C5i2, and assistance services from civil protection, the Red Cross and the tourism secretariat. The aim is to protect families, visitors and tourists while preserving peace and public assets throughout the summer season.
