San Marino healthcare leaders discuss hospital upgrades and territorial services

During a debate at the PDCS Festival, Milena Frulli, Secretary General of the Confederazione Democratica Lavoratori Sammarinese (CDLS), discussed the future of healthcare in San Marino. She emphasized a dual approach: improving the current hospital while planning for a new facility. Frulli noted that a modern structure must be part of a clear healthcare project rooted in universality and free access.

Frulli advocated for increased focus on territorial services and elderly care, suggesting that assistance should be provided in patients' homes whenever possible. She identified three key pillars for the healthcare system: appropriateness in resource use, prevention to reduce lifestyle-related risks, and territoriality to bring basic medical care closer to citizens. San Marino's Secretary of Health, Massimo Andrea Ugolini, expressed support for these directions.
