San Marino PDCS hosts 53rd Festa dell’Amicizia with healthcare debate

The 53rd Festa dell’Amicizia, organized by the Sammarinese Christian Democratic Party (PDCS), held its second evening of events in Serravalle. The festivities included musical performances at Piazza Bertoldi and the Dante Alighieri Park Live Festival.

A central political debate titled “UNA SANITÀ PIÙ FORTE PER UNA COMUNITÀ PIÙ SICURA” (A Stronger Healthcare for a Safer Community) took place at the Terrazza Ex-Ritrovo. The discussion featured various political leaders and union representatives, including Secretary of State for Health Massimo Andrea Ugolini.

Ugolini emphasized the importance of defending San Marino’s universal healthcare model, arguing that rising healthcare spending due to an aging population should be viewed as a community investment rather than just a budgetary concern. He proposed developing new opportunities such as an International Pharmacy, service accreditation, and exchanges with Italian regions. Regarding the future of the hospital, Ugolini suggested a dual approach: improving current services and organization immediately while simultaneously initiating a path toward a new structure.
