San Marino ratifies ILO occupational safety and health conventions
San Marino has officially ratified International Labour Organization (ILO) Conventions No. 155 and No. 187 regarding occupational safety and health. Secretary of State for Labour Alessandro Bevitori deposited the ratification instruments in Geneva with ILO Director-General Gilbert F. Houngbo.
Convention No. 155 focuses on the prevention of occupational injuries and diseases, requiring states to adopt national policies aimed at minimizing professional risks while considering technological evolution. Convention No. 187 aims to establish a permanent system for the continuous improvement of safety and health at work.
Following this ratification, San Marino is committed to implementing the contents of these conventions and providing periodic reports to the ILO regarding regulatory updates, adopted policies, and progress in workplace safety. The CSdL has expressed satisfaction with this milestone and is now calling for the modernization of the nation's current safety framework, which has not been updated since 1998.
