San Marino signs agreement to support special sports athletes
San Marino has signed a three-year agreement between the State Secretariat for Sport and the Sammarinese Special Sports Federation (Fsss) to support athletes with disabilities. The convention provides an annual commitment of 60,000 euros, moving away from one-time grants to establish a stable economic pillar for the community.
This initiative aims to ensure continuity for local activities, addressing the growing number of participants in various disciplines. The funding will support the training of technical staff, the accessibility of facilities, and the acquisition of modern equipment. Additionally, a new Sports Law is expected to formally recognize the right to sport for people with disabilities and allow the San Marino Olympic Committee to assume the functions of a National Paralympic Committee.
