San Michele Arcangelo Church undergoes seismic repairs in Montegallo

Restoration work is underway on the Church of San Michele Arcangelo in the hamlet of Castro, located within the territory of Montegallo. The project aims to repair severe structural damage caused by seismic activity in 2016 and 2017, which resulted in collapses affecting the southwest facade, the bell tower, internal walls, arches, and roofs.

The intervention is supported by a total contribution of 750,000 euros, with the Special Reconstruction Office recently liquidating 182,034 euros toward the works. Extraordinary Commissioner Guido Castelli noted that the recovery is vital for both safety and the protection of historical-religious heritage. Mayor Sante Capanna emphasized that the project is essential for returning a site of identity and social life to the local community.
