Mexico reports fatal pyrotechnics explosion and multiple gas emergencies

Multiple gas-related emergencies and a fatal pyrotechnics explosion have been reported across various regions in Mexico.

In Cuautitlán Izcalli, Estado de México, a vehicle transporting fireworks exploded during a patron saint festival in the San Francisco Tepojaco community. The incident resulted in the death of a teenager and left at least 10 others injured, including several minors. Authorities noted that the specific procession involved had not completed the necessary permits for pyrotechnic use.

Other gas-related incidents include a gas LP tanker overturning near a hospital in Tepeaca, Puebla, which caused significant tension but no injuries. In Tlaquepaque, a natural gas leak forced the preventive evacuation of approximately 500 people from a residential and school area. Additionally, a gas leak at the Tecnológico de Puerto Vallarta required the intervention of firefighters and specialized suppression personnel, while students at the Tecnológico Nacional de México, campus Zongolica, were evacuated due to a strong gas odor.

Emergency services, including Civil Protection and local fire departments, responded to all incidents to secure the areas and provide medical assistance.
