Argentine health authorities address adolescent consumption and mental health

Health and education authorities in various Argentine provinces are implementing initiatives to address the evolving health needs of adolescents.

In La Pampa, the Ministry of Health organized training sessions for health and education teams to tackle emerging consumption patterns. These include digital consumption, the use of vapes, energy drinks, alcohol, and tobacco, as well as risks associated with the digital environment.

In Entre Ríos, the Ministry of Health held an intersectoral workshop in Paraná to promote integral adolescent care and facilitate access to health services through collaborative policies between the health and education sectors.

Additionally, the Municipality of Bell Ville reported a significant increase in demand for adolescent health services, with over 7,000 consultations this year. To manage this, the city has strengthened mental health support and expanded access through a 24/7 telemedicine platform for residents over 13.
