San Sebastián Film Festival 2026 unveils lineup and premieres
The 2026 San Sebastián International Film Festival will run from 18 to 26 September, presenting a program of 25 Spanish‑produced works – 23 feature films and two television series. The official competition includes Roberto Buceo’s drama “El mal padre” starring Eduard Fernández, Miguel Gurea’s film “Sants” and Javier Ruiz Kalenter’s thriller “5 minutos más”.
New entries feature the historical thriller “Sacamantejas” by director David Pérez Sañudo, the six‑part police drama series “El castillo” based on true mafia events, and a slate of debut feature films from emerging directors. Media groups Movistar Plus and Atresmedia are highlighting their major bets at the festival, while special screenings will showcase works by acclaimed creators such as Fernando Trujillo and Fernando Luján.
