In July 2026 the San Sebastián International Film Festival confirmed a September programme centred on 25 Spanish‑produced works – 23 feature films and two TV series – with the Official Competition anchored by the Spanish titles “El mal padre”, “Sants” and “5 minutos más”. In early August the festival announced a José Giovanni retrospective, screening twenty of the French crime writer‑director’s films and publishing a companion volume, underscoring the festival’s broader curatorial scope alongside its support for Spanish cinema.
