San Sebastián Film Festival Announces International Competition Lineup
The 74th San Sebastián Film Festival, taking place September 18‑26 in the Basque city of Donostia, has added seven new titles to its Official Competition. Chilean director Pablo Larraín will present the feature‑film version of his series “My Sad Dead” (originally “Mis muertos tristes”), starring Mercedes Morán, Dolores Fonzi and Alejandra Flechner. British filmmaker Mike Leigh returns with “Tender Loving Care”, featuring Marion Bailey and Paul Jesson. Turkish‑French director Yeşim Ustaoğlu contributes “What Remains” (Artakalan). French actress‑director Nicole Garcia brings “Milo” (7:40 ce matin‑là) with Marion Cotillard in the lead. Brazilian‑Argentine writer Benjamín Naishtat offers “Glaxo”, a drama set between the 1950s and 1980s. Norwegian‑Danish‑German director Hans Petter Moland adds “Growth of the Soil”. The new entries join three Spanish titles already announced – “Sants”, “Five Minutes More” and “El mal padre”. The festival’s lineup reflects its tradition of mixing established auteurs from Latin America, Europe and the Nordics with emerging talent.
