San Sebastián Film Festival announces Horizontes Latinos competitors

The 74th edition of the San Sebastián International Film Festival has announced the 12 films competing in the ‘Horizontes Latinos’ section. Scheduled to take place from September 18 to 26, this category features works directed by Latin American filmmakers or produced partially within the region, competing for the Horizontes Make & Mark Prize.

Valentina Maurel’s ‘Siempre soy tu animal materno’ will open the section, while Marcelo Martinessi’s ‘Narciso’ will serve as the closing film. Other notable competitors include the world premiere of the Brazilian psychological thriller ‘A Professora de Francês’ by Ricardo Alves Jr., and the Colombian production ‘Cinco años, cuatro meses’ by Juan Miguel Gelacio and Esteban Hoyos García.

The selection includes diverse productions from Costa Rica, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Paraguay. Featured filmmakers include Dominga Sotomayor, Manuela Martelli, Diego Luna, and Alessandra Sanguinetti.
