Global cultural sector highlights film, art, and design initiatives

Various cultural and audiovisual initiatives are taking place across Spain, Argentina, and Mexico. In Spain, the Canary Islands delegation is participating in the San Sebastián International Film Festival to promote the archipelago's audiovisual industry. Additionally, the fifth edition of Spanish Cinema Day will honor screenwriters, and industry leaders are discussing the future of European audiovisual regulation and investment.

In Argentina, Córdoba is hosting the 13th edition of the Contemporary Art Market (MAC) at Espacio UNMOL, featuring 59 galleries. The city is also celebrating the Córdoba Cinema Week to honor its 130-year cinematic history. Meanwhile, in Tucumán, the Walks of Design (WOD) event will utilize the historic Ex Ingenio San Pablo to showcase contemporary architecture and design.

In Mexico, the Festival Tragaluz in Michoacán is exploring themes of memory and fire through photography, workshops, and community dialogue. In Chile, the Valdivia International Film Festival has announced its 2026 selections for 'Cine Chileno del Futuro' and the 'Simbiosis Inmersiva Lab,' which merges science with immersive filmmaking.
