Molise launches summer agricultural festivals amid health service protest

Coldiretti Molise and Campagna Amica announced a series of twelve summer events in Termoli, running from 4 July to 25 October. The programme includes street‑food markets, the “Notti Gialle” evenings and showcases local products such as cheese, cured meats, olive oil, honey and agricosmetics.

The regional government held the first of three training sessions on a new microricettività funding call aimed at small tourist accommodations – bed & breakfasts, holiday houses and outdoor facilities. President Francesco Roberti said the measure will strengthen Molise’s tourism offer and create new jobs.

Political activist Andrea Montesanto criticised the lack of any concrete outcome from the promised “Decreto Molise” and questioned the commitment of MP Cesa, noting ongoing problems in regional health and public services.

Mayors of the 32 municipalities of Lower Molise met in Termoli, joined by the municipality of Vasto (Abruzzo), to coordinate a legal challenge against the regional plan to close the cath‑lab (Emodinamica) at San Timoteo Hospital. They argue that the service is essential for emergency cardiac care for residents of Molise, Abruzzo and parts of Puglia.
