Sandile Zungu challenges Danny Jordaan for SAFA presidency

Sandile Zungu, the president of AmaZulu, has expressed confidence in his ability to win the upcoming South African Football Association (SAFA) presidential election scheduled for September 12 in Johannesburg. Zungu is challenging the incumbent, Danny Jordaan, who has held the position for 13 years.

Zungu’s campaign focuses on improving school football, strengthening corporate governance, and enforcing stricter financial discipline. He claims his team has secured significant support from swing regions and aims for a decisive victory rather than a narrow margin.

Ahead of the elective congress, Zungu has raised allegations of electoral misconduct, including claims of political maneuvering, the disqualification of certain regions, and the offering of financial inducements to influence votes. He stated that legal consultations are underway to address these attempts to destabilize the process.
