SanDisk to provide exclusive expandable storage for Meta VR Glasses

SanDisk has entered an exclusive partnership with Meta to provide expandable storage solutions for the upcoming Meta VR Glasses, which are scheduled for release in Spring 2027. The new hardware will feature ‘Made for Meta’ certified microSD Express memory cards and USB-C flash drives designed to work seamlessly with the device.

The Meta VR Glasses are expected to launch with 128GB of internal storage and support microSD cards with capacities of up to 1TB. This move introduces expandable storage to Meta’s standalone headsets for the first time, addressing the high storage demands of VR applications, 360-degree videos, and games. While official pricing for the accessories has not been confirmed, the headset itself is projected to be priced at approximately $1,300.
