Puglia healthcare workers face voucher disparities and job risks

In Puglia, regional council Vice President Renato Perrini has called for a new hearing in the Health Commission to address disparities regarding meal vouchers for healthcare staff. The issue specifically concerns the ASL of Taranto, where workers reportedly receive different benefits compared to other regional health agencies, leading to labor disputes and legal challenges. Perrini is seeking clarity on the status of previous commitments made by the Regional Budget Assessor, Fabiano Amati, to ensure uniform application of the benefit.

Separately, in Foggia, labor unions FP CGIL and FP CISL have raised alarms regarding the employment status of 108 workers at Sanitaservice ASL Foggia. These employees, who provide auxiliary and support services for the 118 emergency system, face contract expirations by September 30, 2026. Unions warn that without contract extensions, the region faces both an employment crisis and a potential collapse of essential healthcare support services due to existing staff shortages.
