Sanrio celebrates Pompompurin 30th anniversary with new merchandise

Sanrio is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its character Pompompurin with several commemorative product releases in Japan.

Bandai has opened reservations for a special “Talking Pompompurin 30th Anniversary!” plush toy. The limited-edition item features approximately 70 newly recorded voice patterns, including anniversary-specific dialogue, a theme song, and various interactive modes such as “talking,” “reply,” “sleep,” and “dance.” The plush is priced at 8,360 yen and includes a signed art sheet. Reservations are available via Premium Bandai through November 27, 2026, with delivery expected in March 2027.

Additionally, Seven-Eleven Japan has launched the “Pompompurin 30th Anniversary Memorial Print” service. Starting September 12, 2026, customers can use multi-copy machines at Seven-Eleven locations nationwide to print 29 different character visual designs on photo paper. The prints are available in L-size for 300 yen and 2L-size for 400 yen, with the service running through the end of 2026.
