Santa Bárbara Sistemas delivers first Hunter combat vehicle to Latvia

Santa Bárbara Sistemas, a Spanish subsidiary of General Dynamics, has officially delivered the first Hunter infantry combat vehicle to the Latvian Armed Forces. This delivery occurs approximately 18 months after the contract was signed.

The agreement involves the supply of 84 Hunter vehicles by 2029, featuring a 30% local industrial participation rate in Latvia. Based on the ASCOD platform, the Hunter is designed to provide enhanced firepower, modular protection, and mobility while ensuring interoperability with NATO allies.

Latvian Defense Minister Raivis Melnis stated that the vehicles will substantially increase the mobility and protection of mechanized units. He also emphasized that the program helps develop national industrial and technological capabilities through local participation.
