Santa Cruz de Tenerife introduces consumer vouchers and expands bus service

The municipal council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife began selling the sixth edition of its "Bonos Consumo" vouchers on 4 August. Each €15 voucher provides a €25 discount, with the city covering 40 % of the value. Residents may purchase up to four vouchers, linked to their ID, and use them at more than 200 local shops until 2 November. The programme, promoted by Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez and the Society of Development, is intended to stimulate local commerce. A new "Bonos Domingo" series will be offered from October, with 4 800 vouchers financed equally by the council and consumers.

On 3 August the city’s mobility department launched a new Titsa bus route 915, connecting the Intercambiador with Hospital La Candelaria. The service replaces part of line 908, runs 19 trips daily and is projected to attract 510 000 riders a year, at an annual cost of €200 800. The plan also upgrades other lines, introduces electric buses and extends night service in several districts.
