Santa Cruz de Tenerife consumer voucher scheme
Overview
In early August 2026 the municipal council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife launched the sixth edition of its "Bonos Consumo" consumer voucher programme. The vouchers, sold for €15 each, grant a €25 discount at more than 200 local shops and are subsidised 40 % by the city. Up to four vouchers can be purchased per resident and the scheme runs until 2 November.
On the first day of sales the programme recorded strong demand, with over 13,000 vouchers sold—representing 84 % of the 16,000 available. City officials highlighted the rapid uptake as evidence of the scheme’s benefit to shoppers and local businesses, estimating a direct spend of around €520,000 generated from the municipal investment of roughly €220,000.
Alongside the voucher launch, the city’s mobility department introduced a new Titsa bus route 915 on 3 August, replacing part of line 908 and aiming to serve 510 000 riders annually. The broader transport plan includes electric buses, night‑service extensions and upgrades to other lines.
