Santa Cruz de Tenerife launches pest control campaign in five neighborhoods
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, through its Sustainability area, is launching a comprehensive pest control campaign in the Centro-Ifara district. Starting Tuesday, October 13, the initiative will target five specific neighborhoods: Salamanca, Las Mimosas, Las Acacias, Los Hoteles, and Zona Rambla.
The operations include surveillance and treatment to prevent and control the presence of rodents, cockroaches, and other insects to maintain public health and sanitation. The schedule begins with Salamanca and Las Acacias on Tuesday, continues in Salamanca on Wednesday, moves to Las Mimosas on Thursday, and concludes on Friday in Los Hoteles and Zona Rambla.
Municipal authorities noted that this preventive programming is supplemented by reactive interventions triggered by citizen reports. Residents are encouraged to use the ‘SC Mejora’ mobile application to report sightings of pests such as rodents, cockroaches, or wasps to ensure a rapid response.
