Santa Cruz de Tenerife updates traffic regulations and manages water leak
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife government has approved a project to reform its municipal mobility and road safety ordinance. The new regulation, expected to be implemented by early 2027, will replace the current ordinance that has been in effect since 1985. The reform aims to address modern needs such as new forms of personal mobility, urban goods distribution, intelligent traffic management systems, and environmental sustainability.
In a separate incident, the local water company, Emmasa, is managing a significant water leak near the Guimerá Theater. The leak was detected on October 24 through the supply network's sectorization system. Technical teams have deployed seven pumps and two trucks to evacuate accumulated water and repair the affected section of the network. A provisional connection has been established to ensure the theater maintains its water supply during the repairs.
