Santa Cruz de Tenerife voucher scheme sells 13,000 vouchers day one
The sixth edition of Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s Bonos Consumo voucher campaign sold more than 13,000 vouchers within the first 24 hours, representing 83.9% of the 16,000 vouchers initially offered. Each voucher costs £15 and can be used for purchases worth £25, with the municipality contributing £10 per voucher. Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez said the rapid uptake shows the scheme’s value for both shoppers and local businesses, while Carmen Pérez, CEO of the Development Society, highlighted the impact on the city’s commercial sector.
The municipal investment exceeds £220,000 and is expected to generate around £520,000 in direct spending at participating shops, restaurants and services. Remaining vouchers are still available in four districts, and businesses can join the programme until 2 November. A second round, called Bonos Domingo, will launch in October with 4,800 vouchers aimed at boosting Sunday shopping.
