Santa Cruz Departmental Agrarian Commission moves to institutionalize INRA leadership
The Departmental Agrarian Commission (CAD) in Santa Cruz has unanimously approved measures to strengthen agrarian sanitation, legal security, and productive planning. A key outcome of the session is the initiation of a process to form a shortlist of candidates for the Departmental Directorate of the National Institute of Agrarian Reform (INRA), aiming to institutionalize the position.
Governor Juan Pablo Velasco noted that the commission addressed land distribution, the conversion of small and medium properties, and progress toward individual titling. Technical working groups will also be established to analyze official data regarding land sanitation, the availability of state lands, and the status of land occupations in the department.
Additionally, Vice Governor Paola Aguirre reported that the commission issued an exhortation to the national government to include $40 million from an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) loan in the General State Budget. These funds are intended to bolster the operational capacity of both INRA and regional governments to complete agrarian sanitation processes.
