National Integrated Health System incorporates 12 new medications
The Ministry of Public Health has reached an agreement with health providers to incorporate 12 new medications into the Therapeutic Drug Formulary (FTM) of the National Integrated Health System. This measure aims to expand treatment access for users without increasing per capita costs or creating additional financial burdens for institutions.
The incorporation will be implemented gradually across three stages in 2026:
- September 2026: Empagliflozin or Dapagliflozin, Tiotropium, Oral Labetalol, and nicotine replacement. - October 2026: Dienogest, Oral Fosfomycin, and Piperacillin/Tazobactam. - November 2026: Tenofovir, Linezolid, and Tigecycline.
Patients will access these medications through a standard drug ticket, which costs an average of 300 pesos.
