Santa Cruz implements Electronic Civil Registry
The Santa Cruz provincial government is implementing an Electronic Civil Registry to modernize the management of vital records. This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Subsecretariat of Registry Affairs and the State Secretariat of Modernization and Technological Innovation.
The transition aims to strengthen information security, streamline administrative processes, and reduce paper consumption. The implementation will begin with birth certificates and will progressively expand to include other vital records, such as marriage and death certificates.
Carla Bahamonde, Subsecretary of Registry Affairs, stated that the project allows the state to move toward a more modern model by speeding up procedures and improving the protection of essential citizen data.
