Santa Fe house fire kills 20-year-old woman

A 20-year-old woman, identified as Naiara Coronel, died on Monday after suffering severe burns in a house fire in the Santa Rosa de Lima neighborhood of Santa Fe, Argentina. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday morning, around 3:00 to 3:30 AM, at a residence on Estrada Street.

Coronel was treated in intensive care at the Hospital José María Cullen but succumbed to her injuries in the afternoon. She had reportedly suffered burns to approximately 70% of her body. A 34-year-old man, identified as her partner, was also injured while attempting to extinguish the flames with a hose. He remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Prosecutor Natalia Giordano of the Special Homicide Unit is leading the investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Authorities, including the Femicide Brigade, are conducting forensic examinations of the property. Additionally, the COBEM unit has been tasked with inspecting the building's structural conditions to report to the municipal government.
