Fatal residential fire in Santa Fe

Overview

A house fire in the Santa Rosa de Lima neighborhood of Santa Fe, Argentina, resulted in the death of 20-year-old Naiara Coronel. The incident occurred in the early hours of a Monday morning at a residence on Estrada Street.

Coronel suffered burns to approximately 70% of her body and died in the afternoon after receiving intensive care at Hospital José María Cullen. Her partner, a 34-year-old man, was injured while attempting to extinguish the flames with a hose and remains in stable condition at the hospital.

Prosecutor Natalia Giordano of the Special Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. Forensic examinations are being conducted by authorities, including the Femicide Brigade, while the COBEM unit inspects the building’s structural conditions to report to the municipal government.
