Santa Fe house fire leaves man with third-degree burns

A man sustained third-degree burns on his left forearm while attempting to extinguish a house fire in the Guadalupe Oeste neighborhood of Santa Fe on Saturday afternoon.

The fire broke out around 6:08 PM in a bedroom of a three-room precarious structure located on Gaboto street. The blaze destroyed a double bed, wooden structures, clothing, and other personal items, while also causing soot damage and damaging wooden beams in the home.

A 50-year-old man, who was at the residence with a 71-year-old woman, was treated on-site by SIES 107 personnel before being transported to Hospital José María Cullen due to the severity of his injuries. Firefighters utilized two hose lines to control the flames. Local police also assisted during the emergency operation. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
