Santa Fe launches special educational regime for student athletes

The Ministry of Education of Santa Fe has launched a new Comprehensive Accompaniment Regime designed for federated and high-performance student athletes. The initiative aims to prevent young athletes from having to choose between their academic studies and their sporting careers due to the demands of training, travel, and competitions.

The program introduces the figure of the “student in accompanied educational trajectory,” which applies to students in both public and private schools across all levels. Under this system, schools, families, and sports institutions will collaborate to create Individual Accompaniment Plans. These plans may include personalized tutoring, specific pedagogical strategies, and adapted evaluation methods to accommodate competition periods.

Eligibility is limited to athletes belonging to third-degree confederations, those participating in the Argentine or Paralympic Olympic Committees, members of provincial sports programs, and players in AFA tournament clubs. The initiative also establishes a Provincial Registry of Federated Student Athletes and is part of the province's preparations for the XIII South American Games in 2026.
