Santa Fe Municipality implements new parking measures and issues fine

The Municipality of Santa Fe has introduced new operational and technological measures to improve the Municipal Ordered Parking System (SEOM). To address issues with worn-down pavement markings, the city is testing a high-resistance thermal adhesive material to replace traditional paint on parking bays. Additionally, the city is implementing a double-numbering system, marking both the pavement and the curb to increase visibility for drivers and transit personnel.

Separately, the municipality issued a fine of approximately 922,885 pesos to the Vecinal Candioti Sur neighborhood association. The sanction follows the placement of protest signs, specifically those reading ‘Seom libre’, on public street furniture such as lighting columns. While the neighborhood association has linked the fine to their ongoing disputes with the SEOM and plans to pursue legal action, municipal authorities stated the penalty is strictly due to violations of advertising and propaganda ordinances regarding the use of public space.
