Santa Fe exempts event taxes to boost tourism

The government of Santa Fe province announced a full exemption from the Gross Income Tax for cultural and entertainment events that attract tourists. The measure is part of a fiscal relief package aimed at increasing investment, employment and visitor spending in the region. Officials said the province hosts more than 3,500 musical performances each year in venues with at least 400 seats, drawing over 2.5 million attendees, about 30 % of whom come from other provinces. By removing the tax, Santa Fe seeks to match the incentives already offered in Córdoba and Buenos Aires and to keep events from relocating to those jurisdictions.

To qualify, organizers must obtain a provincial cultural‑interest declaration and submit documentation at least 15 working days before ticket sales begin or the event starts. The exemption applies to a wide range of activities, including visual, performing and musical arts, literature, heritage projects, festivals, fairs, exhibitions and conferences.
