Santa Fe Province Invests $1.1 Billion to Modernize Puerto de Santa Fe

The government of Argentina’s Santa Fe province announced a plan to invest more than $1.1 billion in the modernization of the Puerto de Santa Fe. The upgrade will add cutting‑edge technology, including a Spraycool dust‑suppression system, automatic pipe‑cutting equipment, solar‑panel installations and improved aspiration systems to lower particulate emissions. Operational efficiency will be boosted by new loading pipelines and a high‑capacity truck tipper designed to increase discharge speed ten‑fold, while a new truck‑dumping unit enhances safety for workers.

In parallel, the plan includes urban‑connectivity projects such as the Ferroportuario promenade and new roundabouts to better integrate the port with the city of Santa Fe. Officials say the investment aims to raise the port’s competitiveness, support provincial export logistics and reduce environmental impact, positioning the facility as a key node in the national inland waterway system.
