Santa Fe Province launches ROPECA registry to coordinate agro‑emergency resources amid El Niño
The Santa Fe provincial government has introduced ROPECA (Registro de Oferentes de Campos, Alimentos y Transporte para Emergencias Agropecuarias), an online platform that registers and matches agricultural resources such as land, feed, and transport with emergency needs. ROPECA aims to speed up responses to rural floods, prolonged droughts, wildfires, and sanitary crises by centralising supply‑demand information and allowing provinces to tap resources from across Argentina.
Users can create offers detailing available fields, livestock feed, or logistics services, track the status of their submissions, and access a searchable list of existing offers. The system is part of broader preventive measures ahead of the expected impacts of the El Niño weather phenomenon, seeking to reduce response times and improve resource allocation for the agricultural sector.
